Duke has already accepted me so i'm relieved to hear that... i'm sending the harvard application tomorrow..... i'd prefer harvard to duke, certainly :)

so tell us which programs/unis have u been admitted to for summer school? and what kind of grades did you get on your transcripts, and recommendations from the teacherS?

I applied to Cornell U and was planning to apply to Columbia. I got into Cornell and since it was my top choice, I don't even have to do Columbia's app! Sorry Tenniscraze, I did not apply to Harvard, so I can't really help. For those who applied or plan to apply to Cornell, I have a 3.7, 1300, and very good recs from an average high school. I also had to write three short responses which were pretty well-written.

I applied to MITE2S, but I'm 95% sure that I'll be rejected. ^_^

I got into Harvard. I'm a sophomore so i didn't have any SAT scores. Just my grades (which average to about 6.3 (off the top of my head) out of 7 and a couple of recommendations (I wasn't allowed to read them but i assume that they were really good.) I'll be taking macroecon and calculus; if i pass the proficiency examination. Good luck on the app. tenniscraze

By Tenniscraze (Tenniscraze) on Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 02:38 am: Edit

your grades are 6.3 out of 7? where'd you get that scores from?

By Ledyana (Ledyana) on Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 05:40 am: Edit

what do you mean by proficiency examination? is it the one for English?

By Footballer (Footballer) on Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 10:10 am: Edit

I am an international IB MYP student and our grades are out of seven. 6.3 is just like an average of all of my grades. People wishing to take some classes, such as higher economics and calculus, must satisfactorily pass a proficiency exam that they will take at the beginning of the program.

oh you're still a sophomore high eh.... i'm already in my first year IB diploma.... so what did they send you in the acceptance package?

I got into Cambridge. It should be a lot of fun! I had to get one Teacher rec. They didn't have concrete scores needed. I'm a Freshman with a 4.0 GPA and a 26 ACT back in 7th grade. I wrote a decent essay so I don't think it was very selective. Its put on by "Oxbridge Academic Programs" if anyone is interested.

By Tenniscraze (Tenniscraze) on Sunday, March 28, 2004 - 05:15 am: Edit

Is that easy to get in?

By Tenniscraze (Tenniscraze) on Thursday, April 01, 2004 - 05:59 am: Edit

I can't be arsed lol... anyways, do you guys agree that the summer programmes of the highest calibre are those which offer college credit-bearing courses in elite universities?

Thuff30, last year I went to the Oxford program that Oxbridge does, and it was fantastic. I loved it. Have fun!

It looks great! I was going to go with someone but they recently backed out. Do many kids go without knowing anyone beforehand?
