My 13 year old S has decided that Taft school is his absolute first choice for boarding school. His stats are:
Current School:
Catholic Elementary school in New Canaan, CT
Will get very good recommendations from Principal,
Math, and English teachers
Academics:
Johns Hopkins CTY
'A' student - Honor Roll
EC's:
Over past 3 years
Baseball
Basketball
Football
Volunteer at Public Library
Altar Server
CIT - YMCA
Attended Outward Bound
Practice SSAT:
85
Could someone tell me if my S is likely to get into Taft?

Hi! I was accepted to Taft this year and will be attending in the fall. His stats look great! However, he really should try to raise his SSAT score. I know of someone with a 98th percentile who had similar stats to your S (with bad reccomendations concerning her sometimes mean demeanor) who was wait listed. Also, these stats alone do not determine a person's acceptance. A really fabulous interview helps A LOT as do you really great essays. Hope this helps!! And tell him yes, TAFT IS THE BEST!!!
