What do you think?
Currently, I'm in a "rank race."
I could easily crush the opposition by taking a hoard of APs in my free time or accept a rank within the top 10 out of a class of about 1000 and study more for my SATs. (With some luck, I was able to get a 1420 wihout preparation.)
1500s are important but won't valedictorian status over 1000 people be nice?
Tell me your opinions please.
P.S.-I know my limits and I can't do both so please don't suggest that, thanks.

valedictiorian, no question
Think of it this way, your looking through thousands of applications and you see yet another 1500 SAT, but how often do you see valedictorians of a class of 1000. Now that's special.

I agree with the rank being more important, a 1420 is still really good. Plus all the AP's will boost your application.

Thanks Chamonix and Oceanblue52, I guess you're right. I feel bad when I see ppl with high 1500s, but I suppose I should take advantage of being in a populated class. Thanks for answering.
btw-I love that quote in your profile Oceanblue52!
