Since Pi Day is on a Sunday this year, our calc class celebrated it today. Everyone baked a pie last night and brought it in today and we ate pies during our class period. Then we walked around the halls chanting "e^x, dx, dy; e^x, dy; cosine, secant, tangent, sine; 3.14159!!!" thennn we went outside and piled into the back of three trucks and drove aroudn the school 3.14 times while cheering and yelling pi dayyyyy. then we went back inside and chanted "AP 04'!!" as we walked back to our class. lol we are the nerdiest class i've ever seen but i thought it was fun and i just wanted to share

Isn't it fun being a nerd?

I'm PISSED. We had one last year, but this year it's on a sunday so we aren't having one because Mr. Gesk, my calc teacher, believes that it would be a "poor estimation" (3.12) and that calculus is too exact to be involved in something that is not. What a loser. I want pie.

We celebrated Pi Day today! It involved bringing in circular shaped food, measuing them, and finding out which one was closest to 3.14. Whoever's food was closest got an extra bonus point. Also, bonus points for the person who's birthday (ie: 101587) was closest to the beginning of pi and the farthest out. Mine: 102987, wasn't even in Pi! So I got a bonus point for being a loser.
Then we ate all of our food and sang Pi songs. So much fun.

I have a book of 2 million digits of pi that my brother had bound for me. It's pretty nifty. It is 8 point font and it takes up 140 pages of solid numbers of pi. Yay for PI!!!!

lol we're such nerds. and this big kid in my class painted the pi symbol over his chest and stomach and he went outside in front of the school where everyone could see him, took his shirt off and started belly dancing and yelling Pi Day

A few friends and I watched the movie Pi last night. Strange, strange movie. Not quite Requiem for Dream (other movie by the same director), but weird and decent.

It was great at my school. We watched films on Pi, had a lecture on its origins, history, and applications, brought pie to eat, very good btw mmmm, and had a "Who knows the most digits of pie?" contest. Yay for Pie-Day!!!

my AP phys/calc class is really cool and we are all total nerds. we had a basketball game (yes, the least likely group of kids to have a basketball game) in which the score was from 0 to 3pi, in increments of pi/2, and i made a pi pie...it was a pie with the symbol pi drawn with m&ms on the top.
however, we didn't celebrate pi day on friday. i think we all forgot. maybe monday.

July 13 is phi day.
golden ratio and all. And its actually based on percentages, not arbitrary dates like all this pi day stuff. But then, I guess the whole calender year thing is kinda arbitrary.

"7/22 is pi approximation day."
Only in Europe. :p
In America, it would have to be inverse of pi approximation day.
