Has anyone gone to this program? I would appreciate any info as I should turn in my application asap! Thanks.
P.S.-the money's not an issue. my parents said 2000 some dollars wasn't bad, compared to most other summer institutions.

I went over the summer to the medical program at UIC. It was a pretty fun time. I though all the kids there would be nerds or something and they definitly were not. Everyone was really cool and we all had a great time. I learned some stuff too. You do hospital and clinic visits and projects. If you have the money, I would suggest you go. I dont know if it helps on applications, but i put it down. Hope that helps

Which city was the best? I'm going to one of them, just don't know which one would be good.
P.S. I'm from Michigan

I went to the one at Georgetown. It was fantastic. We listened to the surgeon general speak. I saw two surgeries (laporoscopy (sorry, sp?) and triple bypass,) and visited the University of Maryland school of medicine and visided a cadaver lab. We did lots of other cool stuff incl. educational seminars, research into hypothetical situations, etc. Hearing the surgeon general was definitely the highlight however. Do the one in DC, and make Boston your second choice. Two friends of mine went to Boston and they had a really great experience too.

Why didn't you go to Georgetown School of Medicine, Johns Hopkins, GWU, or Howard?

Hey, I took your advice and we mailed it today. Washington, D.C. is my first choice and Boston is my second choice. I have some friends that have done DC and Boston and they loved it as well. Thanks.

Hey, I just wanted to start this post back up again. I am going to Phoenix for NYLF MED because the DC and Boston trips were full. Anyone else going to a forum this summer post it up!
