Question 1: Would it be wise to take a spare in grade 11? My next semester is composed of these courses: Bio 11, Chem 11, English 11, and Data Management 12. I heard from a lot of people that Data Management is not an essential course to take. I want to take other maths, or physics, but that would be too heavy of a load for me. I have two other courses I need to take outside of high school, and those will be keeping me busy. Do you think I should take this spare, or should I just keep the data management, or maybe substitute it for another?
Question 2: If I'm hopeing to apply for a business major (not sure which one yet) in a university in the states, are there any required business courses that I should take in high school?

I need to go see my guidance counsiler at the end of this week.. so I need to make a decision by then, please help. If I do decide to have a spare (meaning that there's a class period where I don't have class), would that be bad when universities look at that?

If you want to do business, I think the important courses are AP Stats and AP Economics. In my school you can take AP Stats in 11th, and AP Economics in 12th. Though, I'm only a freshman.
If you want to go to a competitive college, I think a free period will look bad, because you aren't "challenging yourself enough, with a challenging schedule." So, I wouldn't take it.
