I just feel like the need to "rant" about my english teacher at the moment, so anyone who has the same feelings, join in! ^_~
It's like this: she is a middle-aged, icy woman who distances herself from her students and treats them rather like learning inferiors (she states her opinions in a rather dogmatic fashion. if you don't think like her, you get bad grades. automatically.).
Anyways, thanks to my previous english teacher, I got much better at writing essays, and I hoped at the beginning of the year that I'd make a good impression through these. It turns out that my current english teacher has some weird need to deduct points on first drafts, ex: I have a near-perfect essay in terms of mechanics and content, but she needs to take off a whole load of points (like almost 10%!!!) for "having a unchanged first draft!" I'm only like everyone else.... I just write what I think is good for the first draft.... Turns out that my peer editors aren't very helpful in the revisions, so I make them myself, but of course "that doesn't change the draft much." >____> I think it's ridiculous, her grading style, especially when the essay itself is good but the "rough draft wasn't changed enough."
Anyone have this kind of teacher before?

You basically just described my English teacher! I had an awesome teacher last year who made me an amazing writer and now no matter what I do it seems that I can't get a good grade. GRRRR teachers! Blargh!
