I shied from taking an AP science my junior year (taking AP Calc AB, AP US and independently studying Calc BC) and now I am taking just a regular Physics class. I would like to go into something math/science related in college. So which schedule would look better for my senior Year
AP Stat
AP Physics
AP Chem
AP Euro
Honors English
(I'd Finish with 2 Ap Sciences, 3 Ap Maths, and 2 AP Histories)
Or
AP Chem
AP Bio
AP Physics
AP stat
Honors English
(I'd finish with 3 AP Sciences, 3 AP maths, and 1 AP history)
I would assume the second schedule is stronger, but I know that in my school, the Euro class is easier than AP bio. I don't know whether I'd be able to handle the second schedule but would it be recommended to take it If I am interested in math/science?(even if I get more Bs than usual?)

Yeah, the second one probably will look stronger. But I have to say, this is one hecktic schedule. Taking both of the hard sciences (chemistry and physics) at the same time. Really tough. Then you would have to also study bio and stats. If you can do it then go for it, but chem is going to be hard especially when you have to forfit some time to study physics calculus equations yikes.. Go for it though, if you want something bad enough you can achieve it

I am a real lover of the math/science classes, but not a strait A student. I do get some B's here and there, but I think I'll be ok with 3 sciences, english and a somewhat easier math course. Especialy since wh use an online course for AP Statistics (www.apexvs.com)
Our School's AP Physics is physics B (ie no calculus)
I'll finish High School with 7 aps( AP Calc AB&BC, Stat, Bio, Chem, Physics B and US History)
My School does Offer AP english, But I won't be taking it.(I can't stand all that writing)
I think if I can get a decent GPA out of this, that I can pretty much go anywhere outside the ivy/Ivy clone schools (hopefully)
Thanks Cheif, any other thoughts?

Sounds good. I think you will suceed in them. ;)

Yeah, I know the feeling. I was supposed to be in pre-AP Chem this year so I could get into AP Chem next year, but stupid scheduling people couldn't find a period I'd fit in. Now, I have to go straight into AP Chem next year. *rubs temples*
Man, I think I'd spontaneously combust with your schedule! But if you're math/science oriented, I'm sure you can do it. At our school, we can't take AP Bio/Chem at the same time (Bio's 2 periods for the first two periods of the day, and Chem is 1 (sometimes 2) in the first period of the day, so...eh).
Good luck, though!

I think that the first looks more well-rounded. A lot of colleges, IMHO, would rather see a history and 2 sciences than 3 sciences.

Well Smiley, your point is well taken, but I don't know if Euro looks better than Bio on a college app for a school of engineering(which is what I'd like to do)
What kind of colleges are you talking about that would prefer Euro over Bio?

I'm no expert and just speaking from what I've heard and from my general sense... I was thinking of universities and liberal arts colleges. For a specialized school (MIT, Caltech, etc.), perhaps the 3 sciences would be looked upon more kindly. I've taken both AP Bio and AP Euro... Both were a lot of work and a lot of memorization. Bio was probably a bit harder for me because I had skipped introductory bio and because of all the labs. Personally, I found bio a bit more interesting, but that's just me... Taking 3 AP sciences is bound to be pretty challenging (lots of labs, most likely). Best of luck to you, whatever you decide to do!

gameguy, I dont think that when you will apply to college and get rejected to one of them, you would find out that you got accepted if you went back in time and change your schedule from Euro to Bio. So choose what you like better, you should determine it by how comfortable you are with the class difficulty, your interest and the amount of work is given. You are already interested in Euro, but if you like the Bio subject better, than you should decide what you want, but if you like Euro better, choose it. Remember, one class wont make a load of difference, maybe if you are taking the easiest class rather than the hardest, but we are talking about two different APs. Trust me in what I say
