For example, I am Inedependantly studying BC calc but getting no grades for it and I simply take the AP test in May.

How do colleges view this? Because otherwise my schedule is pretty weak. (only 2 other APs)

Do they think Higher of you because it shows dedication to do an independant course, or does that get lost in the Admissions Process?

Well, I've always held the fear that a mediocre performance on an AP test (planning for the worst here!) combined with an independent study course makes it look like you're doing nothing.

At my school, however, you can get a faculty advisor to assign grades, tests (sometimes even oral) and even take attendence to get high school credit for your independent study.

I think you have nothing to worry about with a strong score, but very often colleges ask homeschooled applicants to submit the names of textbooks used and a curriculum guide, as the quality of that schooling may differ from person to person. Perhaps you could do the same?

Well I'm sure that a 4 or 5 on the calc BC test will prove I know the material. Hopefully colleges will see that included with my two ap classes and it will be like I took 3 ap classes.

Im independent atudying French III (Couldn't fit it into my regular schedule) through University of Missouri's program.

Problem: This French III course is incredibly hard compared to my weak French I and II upbringing.

I think I can get A's on all the assignments, but the midterm and final will probably be horrible.

This was the only option I could take to get into French IV next year. Any ideas how the colleges will see this probably bad French grade compared to my straight-A's?
