mine starts on dec. 18 and ends jan. 6...i can hardly wait ...11 days (8 1/2 school days) to go and counting! when is yours?

hopefully there won't be a blizzard on dec 18 like there was today in the new england area....logan airport had to be shut down with 30 inches of snow!

everyone in my dorm just went wild-the school announced just 3 mins ago that there would be no school tomorrow! and i tried to get my homework done by noon today.

Jesus Christ! You start next week?! And you end on January 6th!? Me thinketh this stinketh...you go to a Catholic school, don't you? My school sucks; break starts on the 24th and we come back the 2nd of January.

hey crunchycereal...i go to a boarding school (milton, which is nondenominational) and all boarding schools get 3 weeks off (we follow the same time period as andover and exeter)... i attended a catholic school up until 5th grade but the breaks were not usually longer.

man, i didn't know they had snow days at boarding school. That's cool! we have to have like 2 ft. of snow around here for a snow day, and let me tell you...it doesn't happen much!

anyway, my break starts the 20th and ends january 5th. weee! i can't wait. of course...i'll have to get past finals week first, but eh- trying not to think about that!

Man, I envy all of you....my winter breaks have always been about a week and a half long....But at least we get a week off for President's Day and another week off for Spring break...

we also get 3 weeks off for spring break (march 11- march 29)...and yom kippur (in the fall)...though we have classes on veterans' day...again almost the same time table as andover, exeter, choate, et al.

im exempt from exams so my break should start on friday, but my band concert is on the 19th so we will still have mandatory rehersals mon- fri from 7:15-8 am, so i have to get up @ 6, drive 45 min for a stupid 45 min rehersal, drive 45 min home and then go back to bed. we go back on jan. 5.

andover and exeter were out since last saturday, dec. 13...and for them, classes resume on jan. 6.

as i said, my break starts at 12 noon today so i head for the airport soon after...my flight is at 4 pm this afternoon- i'm so excited to go home!

my school gets a winter break and a holiday break ;) our winter break was in november...and our holiday break starts the 23rd through the 8th of january ;P

i have a 16 day break which is good, but i have 6 essays and 72 pages of outlining for AP EURO!!! grr..i thought they called it vacation bc/ it was a vacation from doing massive amounts of work. oh well..

AP Stats: No homework.
AP Calc: Project/report and 100+ question worksheet.
AP Gov't: 3 Sections (2-3 chapters per section) of worksheets.
AP English: Start reading.
AP Physics: Project (constructing of a system to carry a ball to a hole) and a lab write up.

In addition to that, I need to finish up college applications, travel to and from Utah (from Southern California) twice (one round trip via the road and another via airplane because I have a Hockey tourney in Long Beach the 26,27,28,29). And lastly, I have to be supportive of my sister who is getting ready to have her baby up in Utah. I leave tomorrow and get home the day before break ends. It will be the longest break ever.

i'm starting to be very glad that my semester ended before winter break. it means no homework and lots and lots of time to devote to my independent history research project.

Public school, for the record.

Last day of school was the 17th, and we go back on the 5th.

By the way, not ALL public schools get three weeks off for spring break. Sheesh. We get one, and it's the first week of April. Lots of three-day weekends from now until graduation, though; and I used to wonder why spring semester went so well!

My break started the 18th and I go back January 6th. Except I have a lot of studying and work to do for school anyway, so it's still sort of tense for me.
