English: my worst subject.

I have an A+ for the first semester of academic english.

The problem?

I want into honors. In my school, the honors program is extremely difficult. I am thinking about joining next year, but I need to find a way to improve my critical reading skills and essay writing, otherwise I will do poorly and will be overwhelmed.

How can I do this? Reading isn't enough, unfortunately.

Summer courses at community college? I have no idea.
