hey i just got back from that program. I took "Genes and Behavior." It was grrreat. Honestly, what happened outside our class was more interesting than what happened in it.
The college experience is always more interesting than the classes are, though.
Personally, I loved the campus, I like that it has a very small town feel, but that just down the hill is downtown Providence, which has a really great mall and some clubs, restuarants, etc. Thayer street is my favorite though--GREAT record shops like In Your Ear (my personal fav). Thayer also has an ind. movie theater (The Avon) that plays cool movies (We saw A Clockwork Orange at a midnite showing). If you go, make sure you see the Waterfire in downtown Providence (all along that Providence river or canal)--it is positively breath-taking.
Hey Crnchycereal...were you in the 3week course from July 20-Aug 9? My friend Hibah was in that political theory class I think. Perhaps you knew her?
There were lots of fun on-campus activities, too, by the way. Like a showing of Catch Me if You Can on a huge screen at the main green (we all sat out on blankets), breakdancing club, lectures, writing seminars, etc.
I have a lot of pride for Littlefield Hall, my dorm building. it was ratty but I had some great times in there...Mind you, all the dorms are really really nice, in my opinion. (They vary from modern to an older, more classical style).
Much love to Littlefield,
Erika
