I'm taking AP World History next year (or this year or whatever you consider it) lol. I was wondering if it would be bad to self study for AP Euro or not? It seems to be a lot less complicated because it only has DBQ and FRQ and not that stupid COT essay. Any suggestions?

I'm thinking of self-studying too! I have no answer to your question and I'm waiting for someone to answer it too.

can you describe what time frame AP world centers around? my school offers AP Euro instead of world. if you can tell me the curriculum of AP world, i can tell you where euro and world overlap, and from there you can decide what to do.

AP World focuses on the history of the world starting from pre-history up to current day.

ok euro goes from 1450 to present. so if you wanted to study euro, youd be doing the renaissance and middle ages, global interactions, all the wars etc. personally, if i was going to study euro while taking world, i'd first see how many of the euro topics appear on world AP. if you see that they are consistently big on 1450-present topics, go for it. on the other hand, if you are studying euro to actually take the AP euro test, make sure that what you do in AP world from 1450- present is detailed, if its not that indepth, rethink your decision

sucks that you don't get choices for the essays there..ick..tho..w/ FRQs there is often a comparison essay in there as a choice
