is this a total scam?????
its from washington dc. its says i'm nominated to represent the united states and the state of california as a global scholar and that 80 other countries will be represented. it costs $2000+ and it also came with a letter from pres George W. Bush


does any one have any ideas why i got this and if this is even worth mentioning on applications?

look it up on internet search engines and check it out. also, if u wanna go, get local businesses, the chamber of commerce, or other such town resources to 'sponsor' you. what u do is you write a nice letter describin what it is, why you want to go, what u expect to learn, etc. it usually works! and hey, nothins a scam when it could potentially be free.

the one such conference that is not a scam is and is free (plus 5000 scholarship) is the united states senate youth scholarship program sponsored by the hearst foundation (use an internet search for details and you'll get plenty of info). two delegates through a rigorous application process are selected to represent their state in a week long trip to washington d.c. you'll meet the president, supereme court justices, and many dignataries. if you're a junior, try to check it out and apply! *that and the hugh o brien scholarship are the two most distinguishd such programs
