Just out of curiosity, how many of you who post here are graduating in 3 years?

I'm seriously considering it...however, I'm not sure if my first choice college accepts early admission students.

Why would you want to miss out on your senior year? Maybe I'm the only one who thinks the social exp. is just as important as the academic side of it all? Just wondering. You only get to have your childhood for so long!

i second what twinkletoes696 said.

Thanx!:) Because you'll look back later and realize you missed out. Personally, I think even though sr year is hard, it's your last real yr w/ ur friends. :(

What if your "friends" are horrible, boring people? I'm considering three year. I'm not sure. Maybe I'll just GED out of here, go to a CC, and apply to the ivies for grad school. Eh. I don't know.

Oh god here we go with this humbug again. What are you going to be doing for an extra year anyways? I need to go to college and begin work as soon as possible. My folks aren't going to send me through college with a special fund they've kept since I was a toddler. If you guys do, then yeah you can sit back, and think about life at a bookstore sipping some $3.50 cup of coffee....sorry i'm harsh but i've heard that stuff so many times

License-- You've totally missed my point. I'm pretty sure your post was directed toward me, so I don't feel so hesitant on commenting on it now.

If you guys do, then yeah you can sit back, and think about life at a bookstore sipping some $3.50 cup of coffee....

I never said the point of having a sr yr is to sit back and chill. You don't know me, so personally that's a completely asinine comment. I work my tail off for everything I've achieved, academically, in my ECs and my other passions. I'm sorry that you're so bitter about high school. Why would you want to skip over a year and just go directly to high school? Ever hear of the high school experience? Hate to break it to you, but all the skills you need for a job in the real world aren't necessarily learned in a classroom.

I, too, do not have a special college fund waiting for me. I realize the importance of earning money and financing my education. But, I know that waiting another year to go to college is not going to hinder my money-making prospects in the future....but whatever. I respect your opinion.

There are people for whom hs is, socially, a blast.

There are others for whom his is, socially, something to be endured if it must.

The majority are somewhere in the middle.

Your opinions about senior year and such are going to depend on which perspective you come from.

There are a few colleges that offer programs to students who want to go on to more challenging courses instead of completing the final year of high school. Look at USC.

By Thedad (Thedad) on Saturday, July 12, 2003 - 06:58 pm: Edit

But USC *is* an advanced high school.

(Oooooh...BAD, TheDad, BAD!!!! No dessert for you tonight!!!)

sorry twinkle, its just that i know some hypocrites who say that kind of thing. I thought you were one of them :)

By Twinkletoes696 (Twinkletoes696) on Sunday, July 13, 2003 - 01:45 am: Edit

LOL. No, I am definitely not... I wouldn't trade my last year of high school for anything. I can see where you're coming from, but I have a different perspective.
