Hey to all the guys in Summer Programs (at any university)
can you just talk a little about the program and how you like it?
Like whats your schedule and if its fun..etc etc..
Im thinking about taking one between my junior and senior years, and I wantd to know if its worth it and which one I should consider.
Also, what are the costs for each one?
thanks!

I went to a prefreshman program at Cornell for six weeks two years ago. The schedule was easy but my classes were hard since I did not have enough math background in high school. But this program was free for those who attended because it was required. But if you want to do a summer program or summer classes at a school like Cornell, you better have a lot of cash in your pockets. Cornell charges hundreds of dollars per credit. And don't forget about housing, dining, etc. But I think for special summer programs the cost may be less than if you were attending just for classes.

I'll be attending Northwestern Center for Talent Development, similar to the talented youth programs @ Stanford and Johns Hopkins. Unlike precollege summer schools, these programs concentrate on your talent and develop them. err.

Just finish 3 glorious weeks at JSA (Junior Statesmen of America) at Georgetown University (DC). It was probably one of the most life changing experiences of my 16 years. Totally worth the money!!! Totally difficult and challenging - with others that were there to learn and debate. Great speakers programs, trips to the capitol, white house, pentagon, etc.
Sundays are your only free days and those were filled with checking out Gtown Mall, all the great restaurants and coffee houses, going to the movies. I LOVE GTOWN! Our professor was THE BEST - got his PHD at Oxford and not one class bored me - and believe me you sit there for like 6 hours a day on some days. I mean it's going to be hard for me to go back to high school in the fall because I love college and there's such a difference in the level of everything.
If you go make sure you bring more than 250.00 spending and an extra blanket LOL! And no I'm not a rich kid, my family had to make ALOT of sacrifices for me to go.

the best was Brown summer program baby! I went there this year, it was the best three weeks of my life. The courses are tuff and a lot of work ( i took the superstring theory) but its the most fun i have ever had. It makes you so much more independent because there is no curfue, and as long as your not getting drunk, its exactly like college, but a lot more fun! And providence is a really nice city

- by the way, anyone go to UPENN summer program if so, how was it - either doing that or brown next year
