How about Honors or High Honors on the GSE's?? is it worth adding to the honor/awards list??

i'm putting it on my applications.....

funny thing : i got high honors on the chem test, and got a D in the class...stupid school.

i'm just a freshmen but my english teacher told me that if you're applying to a california school it is worth mentioning. Also she told me that if you have 6 honors or high honors throughout high school you could get some kind of scholarship. Ask around

at my school we barely had any golden state exam (only math for me) and we were told that because of the budget crisis the state has only made a limited number of exams this year. This is bad because now it will be impossible to get that special award (you need to take certain subjects to get it) because not every subject is offered like it used to be

There's no harm in putting them on, especially for the California Schools like Forget me not said. However as there are limited spaces on the UC app anyway, i wouldn't waste many spots putting down GSE's honors.

For private schools, again, there's no harm in putting them on.

And over all, if you get enough high honors/honors on enough tests, you get the California Golden State Seal Merit Diploma.

And basically you can just write that down, and that represents what you've achieved on the GSEs.

Wizzz- I've heard rumors that the Golden State people (or whatever they're called) are going to be changing around the requirements for the California Golden State Seal Merit Diploma. Since they didn't offer U.S. History, which is a requirement, I'd say that's pretty smart of them. =)

This test doesn't matter, end of story, you get some golden thing on your diploma. Don't even bother mentioning it. Also don't even waste your time taking these tests.
