My schedule for my senior year which is next year will be as follows:
English 7 and 8 Honors
AP Biology
Lunch
AP calculus BC
Economics and US Government
and some other elective or some required course. Do you guys think this is an ok schedule for a senior? In my school, were only allowed to take two AP courses per year max. As for extracurricular or co curricular activities, I will still be in debate. What do you guys think of this schedule? Do you think it'll be good in the eyes of the college admissions? Thanks.

I don't know. Sounds good, but you don't have a language, which is rare at my school, but common at others. How many periods do you have in a day? I have a similar question about my sr. year. We have 8 periods but no official lunch (just "free blocks") and all classes are honors classes.
AP English Comp and Lit
AP Government first semester, Joyce's Ulysses 2nd
AP Chemistry (1.5 periods, an extra class on alternate days)
AP Statistics
PreCalc
Spanish 4
Dance Performance
My ECs will continue to be editor of literary magazine, theatre, dance repertory, and a conceptual art group called ReFluxus.

Hey Dazedhyacinth I see you are taking spanish 4! Have fun with it i know i did this year.
Senior year i'm taking:
Honors English
AP English Lang and Lit
Calc
AP Calc
Honors Physics
Religion (required)
a movie class and geography
Chem 2
My school is on blocks ... thats why i have 2 english and 2 calc classes
Plus I'm going to college to take Spanish and at least 1 other class (maybe psych or soc) not sure yet.

We have 8 periods in my school. AP cal BC and AP bio are both double periods. You also need to have lunch for some strange reason. In my school 3 years is all you need for language, unless you want to continue with like AP or taking another language.

Well....my schedule was recently MAJORLY messed up due to some incompetent administrators. eedless to say, we'll be trying to get that whole thing fixed up. In any case, my senior schedule as it stands right NOW is as follows:
AP Calc BC
AP Spanish
AP English Lit
AP European History
Honors Physics
Gym
Lunch
Concert Band <--(Tis was SUPPOSED to be marching band...our concert band sucks ass. The schedule conflict was between physics and band, so I had to opt for the sh*tty band. I pray to God that this situation is changed)
ANYWAY....btw, anyone think that taking a lunch instead of a 5th AP course will hurt my chances in the Ivy's? Thanks for any input.

This is my tentative schedule:
AP English Lit and Comp
AP Calculus
AP Computer Science
AP Chemistry
AP US History
Regular Art
Regular Theater
I'm not doing any more foreign languages because I just got my IB Higher Level certificate for it. Woohoo!
ECs will include varsity softball, varsity basketball, habitat for humanity, model united nations amongst others. These are the same ECs from junior year, and I took AP Economics, AP Psychology, AP English Language, AP Biology and IB-HL Mandarin. I hope I can still cope under senioritis. Could be running for student council...if I have the time. =)

crnchycereal, I am in a similar situation. My schedule is messed up because the stupid school schedules all the ap classes during the same periods. RIght now I am supposed to have 5 APs senior year, but no lunch, just a free 8th (last period) every day. I am considering dropping an AP so I could have lunch duirng that period and maybe taking an elective (easier) course during 8th period. ANy advice??

One course will not make/break your chance for the ivies. You are looked at as a complete picture, not measured with everyone else's ruler. Plus, within the ivies, there is quite a bit of variation as far as acceptance rates.
