How many APs are offered at your school-- its not your courseload compared to the nation, its compared to what opportunities you have.

By Qu1kslvr (Qu1kslvr) on Friday, May 16, 2003 - 11:02 pm: Edit

1. AP Biology
2. AP Calculus AB
3. AP Chemistry
4. AP Comp
5. AP Lit
6. AP Euro
7. AP US Gov
8. AP Latin Vergil
9. AP Physics B
10. AP Spanish Language

12. AP Studio Art

However, they are only offered to Juniors and Seniors. Juniors are only allowed AP US and AP Latin.

qu1kslvr: really? that sucks, the jr/sr requirement. I think that could really hold back a lot of talented students.

the only /real/ AP classes my school has are AP Studio Art, AP music theory, AP English Lit, and AP US. History. All other classes are honors/college :(

Nml1022: SAT and 3.66 GPA (unweighted?) is a bit weak... but with a strong application, admission into schools like Cornell and Berkeley are optimistic. Schools like Harvard and Princeton would be much harder to get in. =\

wow you guys are lucky you have so many AP's. my school has 2 and its only for seniors (im taking both). but to take those APs... ap calc and english ... you have to take regular calc and honors english first. Anyone else think this is weird? (we're on block scheduling too so)

For AP courses not available, Florida offers virtual AP courses online; each course runs about $800 a year. Anyone from any state can take them (though I'm betting there's an extra expense for out-of-state students.)

My school offers these APs:

1.) AP English Language
2.) AP English Literature
3.) AP European History
4.) AP US History
5.) AP Government
6.) AP Statistics
7.) AP Computer Science I
8.) AP Computer Science II
9.) AP Calculus AB
10.) AP Calculus BC
11.) AP Music Theory
12.) AP Art History
13.) AP Spanish Language
14.) AP French Language
15.) AP Biology
16.) AP Physics
17.) AP Chemistry
18.) AP Spanish Literature
19.) AP French Literature

Sophomores are only open to AP European History and AP Computer Science I; after that, it's free game. I used to our AP course options were paltry, but now I see I have no reason to complain . . .
