I know that it is important to make your application speak with "one" voice and focus around what you plan to major in. If i took different classes at some expensive summer programs that all focused on one major (pre/med), will this look good?? I know it is not good to do something to "look good." That is not the problem. I am extremely interested in especially attending NYLF and maybe Columbia. However, the money portion makes me hesitant, but I am still very interested, don't get me wrong. Please tell me what's the best to do. Thanks.

hey,
i think it would help you get into Columbia if you did Columbia's summer program. It would show that you have interest in the college. The only thing is Columbia's pre-college is non-credit. For all that money, I personally wouldnt take a non-credit program... but if u really want to show interest?
I think any other pre-med summer schooling would be impressive to colleges as well, it would show that you know what you want to do and are motivated to accomplish something instead of just sitting on your butt all summer. I'm doing Duke's TIP pre-college program this summer myself...
Good Luck deciding..i believe deadlines are coming up soon?
