College Discussion Forums: Individual Schools: US News Top 25: Rice University: CHANCES: What do you guys/gals think?

*Korean male, came to the US 4 years ago.
(English is my second language.)
*Senior in Texas
*Huge acaedmic disadvantage(destroyed GPA by moving to Texas from New York at the end of the Sophomore year.)
(Will my counselor explaining this disadvantage
to colleges make up for my low class rank? Used to be in top 5% back in New York.)


GPA: UW~ 3.74/4.0 W~ 4.7/6.0
Class rank: 160 of 656 (top 24% or so -_-;)
Taking the most rigorous classes..
Junior year:
AP United States History: 5
AP Biology: 4
AP English Language: 2 (no comment)

Senior year:
Currently taking
AP Calc BC, AP US Govt, AP English Lit,
AP Psychology, AP Physics, Band

SAT: 1460 (710v/750m)
SAT II's:
Math IC: 730
Math IIC: 750
Biology: 650 (retaking in december)
US History. Writing: took in October, expecting
(700+ on both)

EC:

*Weekly visits to a nursing home, over 100 hrs.
*Concert/Marching Band 4 year (Drill member)
*Clarinetist
*JV Soccer (9,10)
*Y.E.S Program (Youth Expanding Service)
*Weekly volunteering at library, over 150 hrs.

*Junior Engineering Technical Society Treasurer

*Several state-recognized math awards
*Decent Recommendations
*Decent Essays (I hope)

Going for premed.

Emory (Match/Reach?)

Could you guys predict my chances and possibly
give me an accurate list that includes safeties?
