i am also the co-ceo of a teen-owned clothing company that two friends from school and i established in december of 2002. we've been featured in three different newspapers, have sold hundreds of items of merchandise, and have had response from all over the nation, and even from places like brazil and turkey. we were invited to spyfest on the queen mary, we have an official business plan published, ficticious name license, all that jazz, its been crazy. and its something unique.
do i have the numbers, ec balance, and overall unique enough of a resume to get into these places? with three varsity letters, two in athletics and one academic, as well as experience in student govt, school newspaper, tutoring, community service, etc etc, is that enough to boost myself past all the 1600-er's and 5.0-er's out there?

You objective is not to "boost myself past all the 1600-er's and 5.0-er's out there?". Stanford will tell you that it rejects many 1600s every year because stats are not the only thing they are looking for. Your stats have to be good enough to get you in the ball park and show that you are capable of doing their level of work and keeping up with your peers there. Given that, (IMO) they are interested in well-rounded, multi-dimensional people who will bring diverse experiences, skills and ideas to the community.

There are a lot of students that look just like you on the paper. Adding another 100 points to you scores will not change that. You'll have to make your application stand out in some way to have a chance.
