My grades were REALLY bad freshman year., I know very well that the UC's do not use freshman grades to calculate UC GPA. however, UC Berkeley will still see my transcript and will see my absolutely awful freshman grades, which are...
1st semseter:
algebra C,
Spanish B,
English B,
Biology B,
Choir, A,
Wrl Hist B.
2nd Semseter:
algebra D (summer school make up-A)
Spanish A
English C
biology B
choir A
wrld Hist C
I'm currently a junior taking all honors and AP's. My grades currently are all A's and one B (in AP bio).
Sophomore year i took mostly honors and 2 college courses and got All A's and 5 B's for the whole year (that's 3 first
Semester and 2 second semester).
Basically all I want to know is how badly my situation will hurt me? Or will it help me? I hear that bad freshman grades with an excellent recovery over the next 2 years can actually help you in the admissions process....
So, any comments?
- where you at one time in a situation like this?
- Do you know anyone who was in a situation like mine?

Get extremely good grades this year and you'll be fine. Colleges love to see drastic improvements in your grades
