Could anyone tell me the difference between the different chemistry sequences? In particular, I am interested in the following sequences:
a)chem1A,chem1B,chem112A
b)chem1A, chem3A, chem3B
c)chem4A, chem4B,chem 112A
I am curious to know the difficulty level of the various sequences.
Also, is one of the above sequences necessary for premed?
And, could someone reasonably skip chem1A and take chem3A in the spring (assuming he/she had already taken AP chem)?
Thanks for your help!

Chem 1A-1B is the standard sequence whereas Chem 4a-4b is much more quantitative and includes a lot of analytical chem. I don't know about the chem 3a-3b sequence. Maybe somebody else can answer that question. 4a-4b is harder than 1a-1b.
I think medical schools only require a year of gen chem and a year of organic chem.
To figure out if you can skip 1a, I'd look at the book the class uses and see how much you understand of the first half (mostly balancing equations, bonding theory and quantum stuff).

The Chemistry 4 and 112 series cover harder material than the 1 and 3 series respectively. However, on the bright side, the curve tends to be higher. So which one really is more 'difficult' really depends on how you define 'difficult'.
