How long did it take most of you guys to get a confirmation email. How can you figure out if all your materials from teachers and counselers is there? The rep that came to my school said that no decisions were mailed until December, but ive seen people on this forum talking about them being sent out this month and the next. Anybody know anything about any of this?

confirmation email was sent to me about 2 days after submitting online. it might be different for paper form.

im pretty sure another email confirming that they received ur recommendations would be sent too.

it says on the umich.edu website that they start sending out letters in late october.

Has anyone who mailed a hard copy received an e-mail confirmation and, if so, what was the lag time between the mailing and the confirming e-mail? Also, as per LTW's post, has anyone received an e-mail confirming receipt of a teacher recommendation?

Oh no. I sent my application 2 weeks ago and still haven't received an email confirmation. When I go to the mich site it says the application was sent...Should I call.

Yes, call the admissions office to make sure all is in order.

Thanks Alexandre, I will call on Monday. Please know that your advice was key in many decisions I've made regarding my applications. Michigan is a school I never considered until you suggested that I check it out. I appreciate how you share your experience and perspectives so freely. Thanks again!

I am honored. If accepted, make sure to visit Ann Arbor. Michigan is not for all tastes. Ann Arbor is an awesome and unique town and Michigan is a great university, but some people prefer a different style.

I submitted my online app a few days ago but I haven't received an email confirmation yet. When I go to the online application it confirms that it has been submitted, but that's it. Should I be expecting an email? Should I call to find out if my letters of rec, transcript, etc. have been received? (Those were mailed hard copy about a week and a half ago.) Thanks!

Lauren, you never lose anything by following up. So by all means call and check. I would give them another 3 or 4 days, but if you haven't received a notice by Thursday, call them.
