Have horrible writing skills (i was struggling when i took english in 7th and 8th, barely understood what they said) , never had official training in grammar. luckily i can always check my grammar w/ my english teacher...

Schools Considering for ED
Michigan U, Ann Arbor - is michigan rolling admissions? is this why everyone stressed to apply in the next 2-3 weeks?

some comments? perhaps other school that i should look into? Any shot at my other reaches? (for EA or regular) matches? be as honest as you can, i can take a harsh hit of reality. I need to know where i stand, thanks.

You cannot apply ED, since Michigan has rolling admissions. As such, you should apply in the next 2 weeks or so in order to have a reasonable chance. If you apply to the school of Engineering, your chances are ok (30/70), but not good. If you apply to LSA (pre-med or stats), you have a 50/50 chance. Was your 9th grade weaker than your 10th and 11th grade in terms of GPA? Is English the reason your GPA was not higher? What is your class rank?

By Thedilettante (Thedilettante) on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 05:14 pm: Edit

8th grade (high school classes) 3.250
9th grade 3.917 (only 2 honors...)
10th grade 3.654 (all honors except spanish)
11th grade 3.818 (all honors except spanish)
12th grade ??? (4 APs, one honors, and spanish11)

Yes, English classes were the only Bs i've got out of all my classes, English brought down my GPA.

My school doesn't do rank, i am among the top 10% (or so i am told by my guide. couns.) We also don't do weighted GPA... Anyhow, ty for the feedback. Any tips would be appreciated, thank you.

by the way, how's the workload in ann arbor in comparison to... say NYU, how many hours of work/freetime/sleep should i expect a day?

By Alexandre (Alexandre) on Sunday, October 03, 2004 - 07:20 am: Edit

If you are interested in Premed or Engineering, expect a heavy work load.

You can also expect a heavy work load if you are in the RC.
