I've been reading about this, and I read somewhere that more people are accepted during SCEA than in RD.

I'm not legacy, athlete, or first person in my family to attend college. I'm not some genius, but I've had several AP classes and fairly high SAT test scores. EC are pretty good (I'm actually getting less confident after reading all these people and their ECs which seem extraordinary and then reading replies that say the ECs are "okay").

Basically the bottom line is that Stanford is my first-choice school. Since I'm not legacy, athlete, etc., would it be more wise to apply RD rather than SCEA? Any helpful constructive commenst are welcome. :)

if ur gonna get in, ur gonna get in. It makes no difference when you apply. applying SCEA can never hurt.

I would probably apply SCEA. If Stanford is genuinely your first-choice school, then you may as well. That way, you will know in advance whether you got in or not and can go from there. I was not a legacy, athlete, etc. and I was admitted early; so I'm a little biased, but I think SCEA is worth a try. However, if you think you may do something before the RD deadline (but after the SCEA deadline) that would enhance your application, then you may wish to apply RD.

There is absolutely no disadvantage to applying SCEA, unless your first senior semester grades are crucial to make you competitive, or you are expecting some major award or accomplishment in between the 2 deadlines.
