By Stuckat410 (Stuckat410) on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 - 04:12 pm: Edit

there is a question that asks what the annual income of my family is...

would it be better to give out this kind of information on my app or not?

although it DOES say that they don't look at financial aid stuff when they look at wehther or not to accept the student, do you think maybe they may lean towards students who won't need any financial aid?

i'm nto sure if that made any sense...
but i read in this book (some dartmouth adcomm wrote it.. i forget who) and she said that if you're 'wealthy', it's better not to give that kind of information b/c it comes off as you being privileged, therefore you could have had opportunities to take SAT classes, etc. etc., so they would expect more out of you.. sounds kind of ridiculous, but i was just wondering if it was true or not.
