Hey, I was wondering if I should go for EA at Stanford or EA at a less competitive school? I would love to go to Stanford but I dont kno if I should try to get accepted in a safer school and then try RA for Stanford or not..I have 700 V and 800 M on my SAT, 4.0 Unweighted and 3rd place in International Intel Science and Engineering Fair...I have fairly good stats in extracurricular..i think..and hmm...12 ap classes and 2 college courses taken by the end of the year..I looked at other people's stats who got in Stanford and they all seem to have 1580 -1600 on their SAT...ahhh so stressed...thx for your comments..^^

don't worry about your SAT, the average SAT score is by no means a 1580, actually i think it's around 1500.

i would go rd, becuase ea is mostly "tagged" students, (read:urm, athlete, and those with near perfect grades, a zillion ECs and they were passionate in all of them and recs from the alumni) of course you can try, but there's a good chance you'll be defferred, which you say you don't want

Apply EA. You'll have a good chance getting in. You can still apply to rolling admission safeties at the same time (you are only limited to one EARLY app.). It would be a very bad idea to apply ED to a safer school and limit your chances to go to a really good one. Normal "un-tagged" people get in EA all the time - trust me on that.

P.S. You definitely should take SAT IIs though, if you haven't done it yet, even though they are "optional".
