I'm debating whether to apply to Stanford via the online application or the paper application. Which do you think is better, and for what reasons?

It doesn't really matter. But, I do think that most schools, these days, are strongly recommending applying online since it is much easier and cheaper for them.

(but they print out your application anyway... they will see it in printed form)

I don't think that they will print it out. Columbia scans all the paper applications and they will see them through monitors. I am not sure about Stanford though.

Stanford does print them out. At the Freshman Opening ceremony Dean Mamlet spoke about having the applications on her dining room table for weeks. Applying online is easyand you don't have to worry about the Post office losing it.

But you still need to fill out a lot of paper stuff regardless. Do most people request a paper application or just print out the pdf's?
