Stanford is having regional information sessions in my town and at various locations around the country. The Stanford online registration page for the regional information sessions

http://admission.stanford.edu/applying/regionals_fall04.htm

gives a list of session locations and lets you sign up online. I will be attending my town's session with my son to find out more current information about Stanford (a college I have visited on business trips, but didn't attend). You could go to your town's session to ask some questions in person before applying.
