Hey all my fellow Wash U students!! I just want to know how everyone's classes have been going! Is everyone excited about the presidential debate (which hopefully will still happen)??

I am not a student, but I am a parent of a student at Wash U. My guess is that President Bush will try to wiggle out of the Wash U debate because he is uncomfortable debating, but most importantly he doen't like the idea of a town hall debate forum. He also is feeling confident about the latest polls placing him ahead of Kerry, and he is ahead in Missouri. Personally speaking, I think he should do all 3 debates, and if he balks at doing the Wash U debate I hope all you students get mad and call the press, and sign a petition urging the president to agree to all of the debates. I heard that Wash U already has a petition. Good Luck!

I'm sure the debate will go as planned. Personally, I do not think his debating skills are so awful that he should not come because of that. But, lets face it..doing only the two debates is the safe way to go if your are up for re-election..after all, Clinton did the same thing eight years ago! I have faith that Bush will not back out as Clinton did, mostly because of all the hard work (and money) WU and others have put into it!
