would it hurt my chances at early admission if I only take 2 SAT II's (writing and math 2c)? I don't think that I have enough time to study for a third, and don't know if I could pull off a 700 or higher on any other subject.

Nah. I doubt it.
I mean, I didnt have great SAT II [I think I totalled something like 2150] scores. And it didnt seem to matter

Another question:
Stanford does not require SAT IIs. But it STRONGLY recommends them. More specifically, it recommends math iic, writing, and third one.
I've taken three (Math IIC, History, and Physics) w/ avg. of 780. Should I still take writing?
Thanks in advance for your advice!

paul-yes, you should take writing. Up until people take the new SAT (Which none of you should be) the writing one is, as you said, STRONGLY recommended.
tormima-you should just take three... a testing period is three, what do you have to lose? Take something related to something else you've learned recently. Could be anything. You don't need a 700 or higher on it. They'd rather you have three and show that you have any capability at all(like 500+) in other subjects than be really good at your "average stanford joe" math and writing.
