I know that a lot of colleges offer information/admission sessions throughout the nation around this time. Does Stanford do the same?

Yes, depending on where you are from. I got a postcard from them last Friday that says in Los Angeles there are 5 different ones. I am going to one, possibly two.

I went to one in LA. I thought it gave a not so strong impression of the school relative to other talks for colleges. Dont go to two, they are duplicates. One was a big enough waste of time.

Are they presented by admissions officers or just admission alumni?

mine had an admissions officer, but it was the same one who gave the presentation at stanford, so almost everything, including the jokes, were exactly the same.
there was also a panel of 2 students, a professor, and an alum.
