I am considering applying for transfer admission... And have a few questions I hope some of you might be able to help me out with:
1) Will completing IGETC improve my chances?
2) Are some community colleges considered better than others (i.e. Merritt vs. CCSF)?
3)Lastly, do good grades in the Berkeley Summer program improve chances, and does anyone know if/how they count against transfer credits?

1) completing IGETC will definately improve your chances. it is your golden ticket to transfer to a UC.
2) well, some community colleges are, no doubt, better than others, but i don't think that really matters in the eyes of the UC admissions people. it might be wise, however, to see which school has more successful transfers.
3) i don't know, i'm a spring 2005 admit

I believe that Diablo Valley College has a reputation as a feeder school to CAL
