I plan on applying EA to Georgetown. Should I expect to be deferred?
SAT: 1280 - 620V, 660M
satII-taking soon
GPA- 4.0

(If it helps I have an A+ final Average in every class I have taken in High School)
By end of senior yr. will have taken: Accelerated Academic Program in English I & II, American History I & II, Calculus, Biology (All other classes are 1st track honors)
Have made the high honor roll each marking period, academic awards from each year, and have played the violin for 8 years. Also have 2 jobs on resume

id say u have a good shot, i wouldnt be expecting deferral if i were u - but ur sat scores threw me off, what happened there? it shouldnt matter though bc of ur high grades and rank - good luck!

You have a lot of ECs, if you have leadership positions within them then I would say you have a good shot. 59% of applicants ranked no. 1 get into Georgetown (I'm also applying there EA, I'm not just a fountain of knowledge), and despite mediocre SATs (what happened?) everything else looks great. Worst case, re-take the SAT, get a 1400, and you're set in the Reg. Decision pool. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. As for the SAT scores, I have always been horrible at standardized tests. (I actually has a 1130 when I first took them. Hopefully the admission officers at GT won't hold these scores against me too much.

Bridget - take the ACT and submit those scores. They are geared toward students like you who are hard workers but are bad test takers. Try it!
