if i apply to Umich during october...i would not be able to send in midyear grades...do they even require those? I just wanted to make sure since i didnt see it as a requirement on the application packet

It depends Dstark. If an applicant is waitlisted, Michigan sometimes ask for an update. But otherwise, they will not ask for a midyear report. However, if you are admitted, they will still want to see your final year's transcripts and Michigan has been known to place students on probation if they senior year's grades slipped significantly. So no slacking you hear! LOL

That's right Shaka! Seriously though, as long as you stay reasonably close to your general average GPA, you are ok. In ohterh words, if you are typically a 3.8 student and your GPA dips to 3.6, Michigan is not going to care. However, if you drop to 3.2, they may react negatively.
