i'm searching for colleges right now, and many i would really like to go to, but i keep on wondering if i could get in. so here are my stats. (the ones that i know)
I'm a black female from long island
GPA UW is 4.0...(did math wrong the last time)
i dont know what it is weighted, but i've been in honors classes since 7th grade and in my junior year all my major classes were AP, and i will do the same for my senior year, including self studying for some other AP test.
So far: AP lang=5, ap us history=5,...ap physics=3 ;(
next years classes: ap lit, ap bio, ap gov, self study ap chem and ap world history...and some other fluff. (my take is that i'll get a 5 in gov, lit, and world history, a 4 or 5 in bio, and chemisty i have no clue (1-5) )
my numerical weighted GPA is 93.46 which i know isn't all that good.
As for regional tests like the Regents, my average score is a 95, but i've scored as high as a 99 and my lowest score is a 90.
sat first shot 1290...more than capable of bringing that up to high 1300's to low 1400's as seen in practice
i plan on doing my sat II's in november
EC's:
Volunteering at Winthrop hospital (neonatal intensive care unit, and maternity)...will continue in october.
Volunteering in FBLA club
Model united nations since 7th grade (treasurer/ fundraising coordinator)
won: best delegate UNICEF 2003 Yale Model UN conference
won: honorable mention Disarmament Chicago University
won: honorable mention Disarament Sewanahaka interdistrict MUN
Foreign Language Honor Society
Business Honor Society
Senior Honor Society
French club since 7th grade
FBLA since 8th grade
Member of Global Links...a small select club that allows you to explore the business world while linking up with business people or visiting hospitals and doctors or attending conventions. Raised about 700 for a cancer fund.
I play the cello and the piano, however i'm no beethoven, but i do like the instruments.
I've worked at University Sports Publication and Subways
My rank i wont know for about 2-3 weeks, but i'm guessing top 10%..i hope.
Thats all i know right now.
I LOVE science and biology and i would like to study a pre-med track.
please tell me if you think if i could get in or not,..some advice on what i should work on,..or some other more suitable colleges that i should concentrate on. thanks...oh yes..this message is cross posted.

Just a question, how is your unweighted GPA 4.0 but your weighted GPA lower than your estimated unweighted GPA? Are you sure you don't want to double check that?
Georgetown isn't the greatest for biology or pre-med.
(I'll post after this, time is running short)

You may want to consider JHU (John Hopkins University), Tufts University, UCLA (which I heard was great for med school, but is hard to get in out of state).

thanks. i just looked georgetown and realized that it doesn't have the type of bio/premed program that i was looking for. I looked at tufts and i like it though.
