dont yell at me about my ECs too much, im sorry, i know im spread out, but it all sounds like so much fun. im thinking of maybe dropping duke from my list of reaches and instead putting either caltech or stanford in its place. should i? or "can" i? ill be retaking that writing and also the SAT1 for the last time, nov, dec, respectively. thinking about international law between japan-america, if i can do such a thing...

ec's are weak, i don't think you'll get into stanford

i guess i wont be applying then, thanks. :)
ill just have to wait til grad/law/med school to apply.

Kousuke, I hope you're not really not applying just because of one complete stranger's opinion. If you apply, you at least have a chance. If you don't, you have no chance at all. Your scores and grades are right in there with everyone else's. If you can make your essays as strong as possible, and make it clear through your ranking of ECs on the EC chart where your greatest interests lie, then I'd say go for it. If you don't get in, then at least you'll know you tried. Good luck!

my ecs will probably be ranked as follows-hours/weeks every year
1. japanese school/japanese volunteer-6h/50w
2. track-12h/20w
3. mu alpha theta-dont know.
4. asian american club-2h/15w probably
5.SMART teams-3h/30w
6. volunteer at Nelson-Atkins museum-3h/25w
7. FBLA-2h/15w
8. NHS-2h/15w
9. frech club/FNHS-1h/10w
10. work at SEARs-10h/50w

yeah, unfortunately im going to have to agree, i see no connections in my ECs. ilove science and math as well as being asian, but i also find it important to stay fit and i really enjoy doing track. i truely care about everything i do, except maybe french club, and its impossible for me to put them in order, but i tried my best. i can explain why i ranked it the way i did but i wont right now.

Look, honey, you're posting all over the site, under multiple threads, asking strangers for advice about a whole variety of schools, the only similarities of which are that they're all well-known. You're looking at small LACs, Stanford, etc. Go visit a couple of places and see what type of "look" you like. Decide whether you want to be so far from home that you CAN'T come home on a weekend, or not. (If you LOVE your mother's culture, does that mean you're close to your mom and will miss her if you're clear across the country? Remember that places like Middlebury will take more than DAY to get home to the West Coast--so even Thanksgiving is hard to get home for.) Also, look at places with strong Asian Studies programs--they'll LOVE your skill at Japanese dance and Japanese language.

"Remember that places like Middlebury will take more than DAY to get home to the West Coast"

thanks for the concern, but i live in kansas, use to live in washington. ive been away from home by my self before for weeks and i know ill be fine. i like cali, and i like the new england area feel, it reminds of seattle weather. is it that weird for me to like schools across the nation? also, ill probably be closer to my mothers culture outside of kansas than inside kansas, even if im near her.

um...are you mocking me?
