I'm wondering if any one has had direct experience with Bennington College in Vermont. It looks as though it would be an interesting, innovative educational experience, my daughter has been accepted, and they are enticing her with good bucks. OTOH, it is rural, small, and should she want to transfer at any point, the set up there may make it difficult. It would be a great place for her to explore multi-dimensional creative expression.

Thoughts? Comments?

My IB coordinator used to be a common guest professor there. He had nothing but praise to say about the place. It is the type of school where everything revolves around the students. I can ask him more about it once holiday break is over.

I'm interested in a current point of view about Bennington College and how the events of the mid-90's are impacting professors and students currently.Any input is welcomed. Thanks in advance.

Is anyone going to Bennington next year? How did you decide that this is the school for you?

Bennington has been stereotyped as the less prestigious Vassar, and is often equated with not especially rigorous "hippie schools" such as Marlboro, Sarah Lawrence, Antioch, and Hampshire. The "rigorous" hippie schools are Vassar, Bard, and Oberlin, by the way.
