Hey ppl, after almost 20 hours on the plane. Here I'm at Washington DC. My first impression of the States wasn't very pleasant after I got stuck in the airport's immigration for more than 2 hours. But everything is ok now. I visited GU yesterday. I originally was scheduled to move in on the 24th, but I've asked the housing office if i can move in earlier and they let me. I gave a reason that my parents have to fly back to Thailand before the 24th :P. So I moved my stuff into room 706 Harbin Hall today. It's carpeted with Air Con..hmmm..
Let me tell you, Harbin rooms are not designed for un-bunked beds. They seriously need to be bunked or else you won't have any space left in your room!

Ok here is a little advice when you arrive. First you have to go make your GOcard. The Gocard office is located on the first floor on Darnall Hall. I suggest that you go make it before your scheduled move-in date. Go now if possible, or whenever you visit Georgetown because i think there'll be loads of ppl waiting in the line on your scheduled move-in date. ok after you get ur Gocard. If you live in Harbin or Village C you'll have to go pick a key to your room (on your scheduled move-in date or you can ask to move in earlier provided that you have a good reason.) at Village C Housing Office (West Entrance, I think) ...I'm not sure where you have to go pick your key if you live in New South though..sorry.

Best Wishes and see you guys sooon..

Thanks for the advice, and good for you for moving in early! I still have a lot to do, including getting my GoCard in order. I can't believe I've put it off this long.

Glad to read that you got everything moved in alright! Do you have shopping to do for other dorm essentials or are you all good to go? Have you been/are you planning on touring DC?

By Cantona (Cantona) on Sunday, August 22, 2004 - 02:59 pm: Edit

I stopped at Frankfurt too!...there's kebab shop near Georgetown..don't worry. I think we can move in at 4 pm on tuesday. It said so in OIP website.

Hoya Saxa, yea..i went to potomac mills (It's really big) and got loads of stuff. I am pretty much set. My roomie said he'll bring TV and Stereo, so i told him that i'll buy a fridge..i haven't found a good one yet though.

today I toured around DC since the morning, and just got back to the hotel. I went to the National Art Gallery and the National Space Musuem. So far, DC has been great!
