Well the rankings have been released, and they'll be on newsstands tomorrow.
Anyway, Georgetown..Georgetown is..number..25. Well, we went down two spots. I can only wonder how Michigan is above us now. Anyway, I'm sure most here don't put a lot of stock into rankings, but I still find them interesting, esp. USNews. Hopefully next year we won't be out of the top 25..then we won't be under that board here!

cornell, this surprises me too. what also surprises me is UVA moving ahead of us too. penn moved up 4 spots!

exactly! Though, Penn was ranked 5 before(tied with i think two others. The blank spots aren't ranks, they just mean tied, and they list the tied schools in alphabetical order), and now it's 4. I'm not really surprised with Penn though.

Well, Georgetown will always be #1 in my heart! (Unless, of course, they reject me! They would then fall right off my list. Hahaha...j/k!
But seriously, do these rankings even matter that much? No. Everyone knows that Georgetown is an extraordinary school, and no ranking can refute that.

let's put this in perspective...
#25 out of 3000+ colleges
i think i can live with that.

yes yes, but I really wanted it to go up! I'm guessing it will for the next issue, b/c the acceptance rate for fall 2003 was 23%(at least according ot the issue, not sure though), and ours was 22%.

The list of Georgetown alums is more prestigious than that of any other college that comes to mind other than Harvard. I would put Georgetown ahead of Emory, Brown, and give it a #10 with Notre Dame right behind it.

Hey, I was wondering if anyone can hook me up with their USNEWS username and password? Just so I could see the rankings? C'mon, we're all friendly Hoyas here, right?
