I know there is Regent's scholarships for in state, what about for out-of-state. Any scholarships or tuition reduction? If so based on what? 4.0 uw at private college prep school, 1/350, SAT I 1550 (verbal 800, math 750), SATII- writing 800, US history 760, math IIc 590(Ouch - retaking in October. Good EC's. Interested in English/Film major. Chances?

Although I can't speak regarding scholarships, since I'm in-state, you likely have an excellent chance at getting accepted. With a bit of luck and the right essay, you could probably get into an Ivy League, as well. The English department at Berkeley is stellar, though, rated the top in the country in several of the sub-disciplines and in the top 3 for most of the others. It is not an impacted major, either, so I would think that your chances there are higher than, say, EECS. I'm not too familiar with the film program, though.

You're a shoe-in for acceptance so long as your other scores are similar to your SAT scores (namely APs). I don't know about scholarships, though. I wasn't even aware that Regents' was limited to in-state students. Generally, private schools are going to be more likely to hand out money than public schools simply because they usually have more to hand out to fewer students.
