Sigh, I was bored so I looked at the new Princeton Review rankings after I heard about it on CNN just now. Of course Georgetown made some lists. It's ranked 11 for The Toughest to Get Into(though I don't understand how it's harder to get into Princeton and MIT than Yale when Yale had THE lowest acceptance rate out of all of the major universities). It's ranked 5 for most politically active(vote for Kerry!!!). It's also 5 for great college town(M street and the area around it. Need I say more?).

lol I thought it was easier to get into Georgetown this year than in past years (?)

well Gtown's acceptance rate only increased by 1%. Usually though, it comes just after University of Pennsylvania(like in USNews), as they usually have 20-21%. Oh well, it still was extremely difficult.

i wanted to ask something.
if gtown is so good and all, why is it ranked 23 naitonwide (us news)?

well, USNews isn't really the be all and all of rankings, and sometimes I don't get it really(how are Emory and Notre Dame better than Gtown, no offense to those schools?). However, in the context of the entire collegiate spectrum in the US, 23 is AMAZING. It's 23 out of a few hundred, or close to thousand(not really sure how many schools we have).

yeah it's well over a thousand schools.

I thought it was something like 3000 lol. That might just be my perception. In New England there's a freakin college in every town.

I personally hate school rankings (absolutely no offense intended to those who love 'em). I just don't see any real way that you can stack certain colleges up against each other...thus G'town's being #23 means nothing to me.

just that Uva is 21, and my bro went to Uva, and no offence to him, but i always felt that i deserved to go to a better college than him!! lol.
