for Junior transfer... I can't make it. My sister is getting married, and i'm part of the wedding. DO you guys think that I'll be able to handle everything that goes on during the Calso orientation on my own, on campus?
thanks.

regular students have "getting your bearings" or something like that, which is for people who didnt go to calso. check if they have it for transfers

You really don't need to go to CalSO. Email/call/somehow contact the advisers from Cal and ask them for a code to schedule your classes (I know all frosh need one, not sure about transfers). You'll be able to get your student ID and everything during Welcome Week anytime you want.
The only important thing that happens at CalSO is signing up for classes. I'm assuming you know what major you are so it should be easier for you to choose the appropriate classes.
(check schedule.berkeley.edu) Also look up the prereqs for your college/major/breadth.
You should be able to figure everything out in a couple of days (about 3 hours worth of work, but it helps to sleep in between choosing the classes and signing up; you may change your mind)
