If you don't interview with WU, does that decrease your chances of getting in? How about visiting the campus? I don't know if we will be able to visit before the application is due.

Wash U is a top school, but a factor in their admissions process is definitely interest. If you can't visit campus, I would definitely recommend an an interview with an aluma/us. You can have one of those interviews with a member of the alumni in your area. I would especially recommend it if you are a charismatic interviewer. If Wash U is one of your top choices, I would definitely do your best to appear interested. If you are applying early decision, that's already a huge indication that they're your first choice. If you are applying regular decision, do your best to show your interest.

I think it'd be a very good idea to do an interview, if it is at all possible/convenient. I hear that Wash U looks for interest in the school when choosing to admit candidates.
That said, a good friend of mine got in this year without having an interview, visiting the campus, or doing anything else to show interest, so it's not like not having an interview automatically rules you out.
