Nope. They don't have interviews. They offer a small group interview when you visit campus but nothing is recorded for that either.

Yes, they do offer interviews. However, it's not exactly like that of other universities.
If your area has a good concentration of NU alumni, they hold a special day where there are a bunch of NU interviewers in a room. You set your appointment time online and then you go to this gathering. You'll be interviewed by one of the people. It was actually a nicely arranged event.
I don't think this happens in all areas, just certain hotspots. As well, I'm not sure they do this for early decision. Plus, it's not to worry anyways. The NU interviewer hardly means anything. The space they fill out on you is not even half an 8 X 11 sheet of paper.

Primab, I did an interview for Northwestern when I applied last year. Interviews are only optional but they can help adcoms determine your acceptance. You will not receive information about an interview until you have applied to Northwestern. Once they receive your application, interviews are usually done in the month of February. (They sent mail to NU alumni in certain regions and they contact your home for more information.)

I had an interview for NU in my home town. It was an intimate thing and the interviewer really liked me. It does help in decisions and I would highly recommend getting one. Although I did not choose to attend NU, the interviewer was probably the nicest out of all the ones I talked to for other colleges. The interview lasted almost 2 hours!! We kept talking; she was great!
