Ok, this is really random, but I got the Georgetown application and I was just wondering why they want you to attach a picture. I don't have a problem with it, I just never have seen any other school ask for one.

many schools ask for one. They want to put a face on your application. It's optional. University of Pennsylvania and Brown also ask.

So does Columbia. =) And I've known some people who send in photos when they're not even requested....

i wouldn't worry about the picture. i didn't submit one and i recieved the john carroll scholarship

I was thinking about superimposing myself over the American Flag for my picture. Would that come across as being too pompous?

As long as you don't have "PRESIDENT" above your name. lol. unless of course you are, then by all means.

Richpull, I don't think it would come across as pompous... but maybe... overreaching. It's your choice though. The admissions commmittee might appreciate your creativity.

Its not terribly important but like Cornellhopeful said its just to put a face with the app. It's funny actually, because when my bro applied him and his friend ended up sending one half of the same picture without knowing other had done so. Over Christmas my bro got a card saying they hope he'd join his sister and friend at Georgetown. They do take the time to get to want to know you.
