okay can you guys help me out and lemme know what my chances are so i know whether or not my efforts are futile or not? ha thanks so much guys!!

SAT I: 1460 (Verbal 740 Math 720)
GPA: 3.3 UW at the end of junior year ( yeah i know thats kinda low.. but im working on it so hopefully it'll pick up a little, o yeah... im in the international baccalaureate program)
Class rank: top 10% (im not sure how.. but i think its because we have a lot of traditional students at our school)

AP: spanish, english comp&lit, european history, calculus ab, chemistry, biology

Extra Cirriculars:
** i am an extremely competitve swimmer at the national level. i generally practice 3 hours a day and over the summer it gets up to 7 hours a day. i place well at states as well, top 8 in four events, including first and second place finishes. on our high school team i've been awarded most valuable a few times too. i kno WU doesn't give out athletic scholarships.. but its gotta help a little right?
** i've done volunteer work at a nursing home and as a drown prevention class assistant. right now im volutneering at neighborhood family center where i work with kids who are in tough situations, ages 6-12. by the end of my senior year i will have at least 200 hours of volunteer work done.
** im in our school's model UN club and next year i will be in our mu alpha theta team too. i haven't really been able to participate in clubs that much because of swimming and i have to babysit my brother and sister a lot.
** in national honor society

and yeah... i think thats about it. oh yeah! i almost forgot.. im cute too! HAHA just messing around!! well thanks to everyone for the input

If you intend to continue swimming in college and if your times are good enough for division 1-A, you should consider some top schools that give athletic scholarships and have outstanding swimming facilities. Duke, for example, though ordinarily a slightly tougher admit than Wash U., might be very interested in a D1-A swimmer with a 1460. If you are really good, you might even have a shot at Stanford. If an athletic scholarship is not an issue, consider Yale, which likes to be competitive in the pool and might find that you have more financial need than you think.

yeah i do plan to keep on swimming. i think my times are fast enough for division 1A but probably not fast enough to be part of their traveling team. so i probably won't get too much of a scholarship for swimming because i won't be that great compared to their other swimmers. but i have been in contact with yale swimming and we'll see how that goes. thanks for your help!
