For those attending Rice this next year I was just wondering if you all are getting excited about O-Week. The package we received a while back with the tentative schedule, etc, seemed daunting but it should be an incredible experience. Also, how many of you already have a roommate for next year?

From what I've heard, we should hear sometime relatively soon about our housing assignments. I think I remember someone saying it should be early July, though I could be wrong.

I am rooming with a guy from my school and while on the subject of my school we have four going to Rice next year (myself included)! I thought you found out your housing assingment the first day you arrived on campus for O-Week but I could be completely wrong. Regardless, O-Week should be incredible!

According to the Yahoo group, new students have already been divided among the residential colleges and they are in the process of matching roommates. I assume you should hear soon!

Also, the Rice website has an orientation link now. You can read introductory statments from the O-Week coordinators for all the residential colleges.

O-week is a blast-- I think most of ya'll will enjoy it a lot. Prepare yourself for some great speeches following matric, introduction to all the fun rice traditions (beer bike, baker-13, etc), bowling, the most hardcore scavenger hunt you've ever been on (you will see), dinner and a night on the town, and a lot more. Of course, all the upperclassmen are looking forward to meeting you guys at dis-O as well :)
